Grisedale Pike

almost at the summit

A run up Grisedale Pike this evening - up via Kinn End and down The Grind.  A bit cool on top but overall good conditions.

5.6 miles in 1hr 18mins

We started off at the car park just a little way up the Whinlatter Pass.  This gave me an opportunity to check out the drains and other work we did on a recent Fix the Fells work party.

drains bedding in very nicely.  The path looks well formed and neat

We ran most of the way until the steep rocky section.  It was getting a bit cold and windy so we didn't hang around on top.  We descended via The Grind: a steep descent but good fun.  At the bottom, after a slight diversion where we considered following one of the MTB tracks, we got back onto the road and ran down a fair way before picking up a nice track which came out at the Hope Memorial Camp.  From here it was a short run back up the hill to the car.

at the end of the long descent down The Grind - Jelly Legs!
