Helvellyn

Paul is in training for the 10 Peaks Race at the end of June and wanted to check out a fast way down from Helvellyn.

I have a big event on Sunday so didn't want to go all out today.

We climbed up from the car park at Whythburn, following the path to the summit.

From here Paul took a bearing and we headed off steeply down grassy terrain around the top of Whelpside Gill, across Comb Gill and meeting up with the same path.  Rough terrain but quick.
